From the car park of the Schmiederalm Alpine farm follow the no. 5 trail markers through marvellous spruce trees to the so-called Kösertal valley. Follow the no. 9 signs to the “Neuhütt-Lavazé” over a rather flat, not overly steep wide trail with constant impressive views of the Maria Weißenstein monastery covered in snow, the Etschtal valley and the mountains of Merano/Meran.{MQ} After approx. 80 minutes you come to the Neuhütt Alm Alpine farm at 1,791 m. From here marked trail no. 1 leads to the point above the Neuhütt Alm Alpine farm where trail no. 5A branches off. This leads to the Grassnerwiese meadow with views into the bottom of the Bletterbachschlucht gorge and up to the peak of the Weißhorn.{MQ}Return as far as the Kösertal valley where trail no. 3 leads past the Lahneralm Alpine farm and via the Gorzsteig trail “G” back to the Schmiederalm.
