Indulgence on the farm

Freshly baked bread, home-made jams, tasty ‘Speck’, freshly laid eggs: with ‘Roter Hahn’, it’s all about enjoyment.

A substantial breakfast is just the thing to help you start the day feeling energised. Guests can enjoy tucking into healthy, genuine produce from the farm, such as fresh milk, honey, bread and home-made cakes or jams first thing in the morning. This produce is accompanied by tasty farm specialities carefully prepared in the farm kitchen. The farm is the place where guests’ breakfast wishes are met.

On lots of farms, you can enjoy a generous farmhouse breakfast in a cosy wood-panelled ‘Stube’, or outdoors in the garden on warmer summer days. If you are feeling lazy, some farmers will be happy to leave a basket full of fresh breakfast goodies outside your door filled with produce such as bread, cakes, juices and home-made jams. No matter what age you are, there’s still enjoyment to be had in tucking into the most important meal of the day in your pyjamas.

Farmhouse breakfasts are influenced by the seasons’ rhythms. What kinds of things can you look forward to?

INDULGENCE ON THE FARM

INDULGENCE ON THE FARM

Back to the roots

Back to the roots

You can only really get to know the origins of South Tyrol cuisine if you know how and where it is produced. You just need to try some ‘Roter Hahn‘ brand produce to get an idea of what it means to cook with fresh, genuine ingredients. Lots of our farms have a long tradition of making fruit juice, for example. You can try farm juice prepared from only natural ingredients – a treat for your tastebuds and great for body and soul. Be prepared to no longer like the taste of industrially produced fruit juice afterwards.

Watching the farmer at work

Have you always wanted to try out a bit of dumpling rolling or beating cream into butter? On holiday on a ‘Roter Hahn’ farm, you’ll have the chance to watch what goes on in the farm kitchen and help to prepare a variety of South Tyrolean specialities. Guests on farms can get a taste of farm life and find out how to make apple strudel or ‘Krapfen’ pastries at first hand.

Product corner and farm shop: taking a piece of farm life home with you

There are currently more than 300 farm shops on ‘Roter Hahn’ farms and about 80 farms have a product corner. This means that you not only get to taste produce from the farm, but also purchase it. Here is some of the farm produce that you can stock up on in the farm shops and product corners:
