MISSION STATEMENT
Roter Hahn
Quality-assured farms for your holiday, high-quality products from farmers with direct marketing, delicious home cooking in selected farm and wine taverns, and authentic farm handicrafts - Roter Hahn shows you the best of the South Tyrolean farm world.
We bring people closer to the rural South Tyrolean way of life.
The Südtiroler Bauernbund has brought together the four pillars of 'Farm holidays', 'Quality farm products', 'Farm taverns' and 'Rural handicrafts' under the umbrella brand 'Roter Hahn' and has set out required quality standards. The aim is to support local farmers and to introduce people to the unique world of farming.
The additional income on the farm is particularly important in South Tyrol because the agriculture is very small-scale. It would not be possible for the farmers to survive solely on the income from the farming activity. An additional income on the farm not only ensures the continued existence of the farming culture, but also enables the farming family to work on the farm all year round and to be able to live off the farm.
Experience the farm
Roter Hahn has been helping people to experience rural culture in all its diversity since 1998.
Right from the start, the guiding principle has been 'We bring people closer to the rural South Tyrolean way of life', which unites all pillars to this day. The characteristic features were defined as realness, authenticity, honesty, sustainability and small structures.
Roter Hahn stands for high quality and transparency and strict criteria, along with regular checks, guarantee consistently high standards.
The logo
The logo, which is still used today, was designed in the founding year of 'Roter Hahn'. The rooster can be found in South Tyrol on a wine farm as well as on a fruit or livestock farm. It symbolizes living agriculture. The red of the rooster symbolizes strength, love and sympathy - the farming families should be proud of their work. Dark yellow stands for the 300 days of sunshine a year, yellow for arable farming, light green for fruit and wine growing, green for the meadows and the livestock associated with them, and dark green for the forest. As well as that, a farmhouse and South Tyrol's local mountain, the Schlern, can also be seen. Initially, 'Roter Hahn' was just a figurative logo, but now a word mark has emerged from the seal of quality.
