Vitality treatments have a long tradition in South Tyrol's rural culture. Medicinal plants and herbs have always grown in the immediate vicinity of the farm. Due to their natural active ingredients, these are used by the farm family for promoting physical and mental well-being. As a result, holidaymakers also have the opportunity to enjoy regional wellness treatments. A vitality holiday on the farm, however, goes far beyond that. The balanced breakfast with many delicious products from the farm will be a treat for your tastebuds. The cosy apartments and rooms, furnished with lots of wood, invite you to linger and relax.
Holistic pamper package
Those looking for relaxation are pampered from top to toe during a wellness holiday on the farm. The range of vitality treatments is diverse. Traditional hay baths were discovered on South Tyrolean farms centuries ago. Back then, the farmers slept in the freshly cut grass after a hard hay harvest and woke up the next day full of renewed vigour. The grass of the mountain meadows comes exclusively from higher altitudes and therefore contains many species-rich herbs that have a particularly positive effect on the body. Before the bath, the hay is immersed in a 40°C warm water bath. Your body is then laid in the soothing grass as essential oils are released and a stimulating feeling of warmth is created. A bath in fluffy sheep's wool is also something very special. Wool is used in a variety of ways on South Tyrolean farms. In a wool bath, your body is wrapped in a natural sheep's fleece. After a short time your blood circulation will be stimulated, toxins will be dissolved and your skin will be soft and supple. Since sheep's wool not only transmits calm, but also gives natural warmth, deep-seated tension is released. Some farms offer guests pleasant massages with essential oils from Alpine grasses, which relax the muscles and stimulate the metabolism. After the massage you will feel deeply relaxed and rested. All treatments on the farm are carried out by a professionally trained member of the farm family. Many of the natural materials used come directly from the farm or the surrounding area. Some farms in South Tyrol specialise in vitality holidays and have something extra to offer.
Kneipp therapy on the farm
After a long hike in the mountains of South Tyrol, your legs are often heavy and your muscles are tired. The Kneipp trail on the farm provides the refreshment you need. With Kneipp therapy, you wade through cold water, lifting your legs to do the so-called 'stork walk'. After a short time you change to the dry trail to warm your feet. This process is repeated several times. Treading water stimulates the circulation and boosts the immune system. Combined with a barefoot trail, the sole reflexes are also activated. This creates a holistic Kneipp experience. Some farmers are qualified Kneipp health trainers and will be happy to introduce you to the teaching of the five elements according to the Catholic priest Sebastian Kneipp. On a specialised Kneipp farm you are in the right place.
Together with authentic experiences and very personal support, a vitality holiday on the farm provides a unique feel-good package. The wellness treatments are a real blessing for body and soul.
