Handicraft afternoons
Handicrafts with natural materials
Sometimes quieter moods are created on South Tyrolean farms. During an afternoon of handicrafts, the farmer, together with the guests, both young and old, conjures up true works of art from natural materials.

Manual skill has always been an important virtue on South Tyrolean farms. In addition to high-quality agricultural products, everyday objects were also made by the farm family themselves. Even today, the farmers are considered to be particularly imaginative and skilful. This wealth of ideas is expressed by the women farmers during creative handicraft afternoons. In the cosy living room, they show curious parents and children the original individual pieces that can be made from natural materials.
Time flies when you are making hay figures on the farm in South Tyrol. The dexterous farmers reveal their best tricks and are always there to lend a helping hand. At the end children's eyes light up when the little pig or the hen made from hay finally takes shape. Back home, the figure's aromatic scent reminds guests of their holiday on the farm for a long time.
Other natural materials, such as felt, wool and wood, are also used to craft beautiful things together. Straw stars are bound together at Christmas, and at Easter the farmer shows you how to dye eggs different colours naturally. And best of all, during these creative hours, you will delve deep into everyday farming life and learn about the traditions and customs.
