There is always something happening on the farm, and a lot to discover and marvel at. Many farms in South Tyrol also have an eventful history. Since not everything is self-explanatory, the farmer will be happy to take you along and tell you all sorts of interesting facts on a tour of the farm. You won't just visit the farm, but also the meadows, fields and farmland. Depending on the type of farm, during the tour you will learn about the daily farming tasks, old cattle breeds, wine and apple varieties, farming traditions and much more.
Some farms in South Tyrol even have an old mill, a farm chapel or a small museum with old tools and equipment. Many exciting stories from bygone days are hidden in the remains of the past. So you can imagine exactly what life on the farm was like in the past. It is not uncommon for a tour of the farm to end with a tasting session. In addition to tasting 'Speck' or wine, tasting a selection of apple varieties is a particularly novel experience. Whether green or red, sweet or sour, crunchy or juicy, every bite of an apple is a unique experience for your taste buds.
