The farm
The Egarterhof - a typical mountain farm on the sunny side of the lower Eisacktale valley with an unforgettable panoramic view.
The Egarterhof is located at 1130 meters above sea level in the Gareit district (Gereuth). The name Egarter (egerte) originally meant fallow land. The farmstead dates back to 1313.
Most of the farms in Gereuth were Schwaighöfe, which means that because of the high location (1043-1460 meters) they raised little grain, but had larger livestock and paid their taxes from this and its products (cheese, lard, wool).
Today the Egarterhof is a typical mountain farm with cows, pigs, goats, chickens, rabbits and cats. The farm is two kilometers from the town center and seven kilometers from Brixen.

Location & arrival
Arrival
Take the Klausen-Gröden motorway exit if you are coming from the south or the Brixen-Pustertal motorway exit if you are coming from the north. Then take the Brennerstrasse/SS12 towards the centre of Brixen and go over the roundabout. At the second roundabout, follow the signs for the train station or Gereuth. Continue on Feldthurner Straße SP74. After approx. 2 km turn right to Pinzagen, Tils and Gereuth and follow the road to Egarterhof.
