Through the Eisacktal/Valle Isarco valley to Klausen/Chiusa; turn into Villnöss/Funes valley and drive to St. Peter. Continue from there on the road to Würzjoch pass. 

General description

A challenging mountain hike with a stunning view of the surrounding Dolomites. The last part beneath the summit consists of a via ferrata on which belaying with a climbing harness is recommended.

Equipment
It is advisable to carry a via ferrata set.
Public transport
By bus from Klausen/Chiusa or Brixen/Bressanone through Villnöss Valley to St. Peter – change to the bus to Würzjoch pass.
Route description

• The hike starts at the car park Würzjoch pass (2006 m). Follow trail no. 8A passing by several alpine huts. At the intersection which you reach after 20 minutes, keep to the right and continue on trail no. 8A. You get to the beginning of the Forcella de Putia/Peitlerscharte from where you follow trail no. 4 which becomes steeper and leads up to the highest point of the Forcella de Putia (2357 m). Trail no. 4B starts to your left and it leads in serpentines to the access to the via ferrata. There you can find enough space to put on you climbing harness. Then continue on the via ferrata (equipped with steel ropes) to the summit of Mount Sas de Putia (2875 m).
