Under the light of the full moon, athletes compete in this classic diagonal stride cross-country night race.
The moon will be amazed when it pushes out from behind the Dolomite mountains. This is when the starting signal is given for a very unusual cross-country night race. At 8 p.m., several hundred cross-country skiers will set off into the night in Compatsch, sliding their narrow skis through the winter landscape under the glow of their headlamps, following trails for 15 or 30 kilometres until they return to the starting point. And the Seiser Alm Moonlight Classic is not just a great experience for the participants, but it is for the spectators too! When the winners are decided, there’s a party - until the last cable car ride back down to the valley.
