The artists have four days to produce a sculpture from a large block of ice. Breathtaking ice sculptures are created as a result.
Everything is focused on creativity and skill at the Klausberg Ice Games, which are held at an altitude of 2,500m above sea level. Every year in January, breathtaking ice sculptures are created here by artists from South Tyrol, Austria, Germany and Italy.
The artists have four days to create a sculpture from a 3 x 3 x 3 m block of ice, chosen to match the annual theme. At the end of the fourth day, an expert jury together with the audience will award prizes to the six most beautiful sculptures, and the artist of the winning piece will be crowned "Ice King".
These handmade works of art made of ice and snow can not only be admired during the week of the Klausberg Ice Games; they’ll remain standing until the spring sun melts them.
