For many years, the The Pinot Noir Days in Montan have been a popular meeting place for wine lovers.
The Pinot Noir grape variety produces very interesting results in South Tyrol. Neumarkt and Montan are considered to be excellent Pinot Noir sites so they’re the perfect setting for presenting South Tyrolean Pinot Noir wine and comparing it to national and international labels. Since 1999, the wine world has met every year in the wine villages of Neumarkt and Montan to taste the best Pinot Noirs from Italy and the rest of the world. A commission of experts selects the best Pinot Noirs in advance and they are awarded at the prize-giving ceremony in Enn Castle. Members of the public then get the chance to immerse themselves in the world of this French grape variety at a public wine tasting in Neumarkt. There will also be a traditional wine party.
