For one day, the legendary mountain pass road to the Stilfser Joch belongs only to cyclists and mountain bikers.
Every year at the end of August or early September, the legendary pass road to the Stilfser Joch is closed to motorised traffic for one day and open to cyclists only. The Stilfserjoch - in the National Park of the same name - can be reached via 48 hairpin bends and 1,869 metres in altitude. The starting point of the bike tour, which is open to all cyclists, is Spondinig or Prad am Stilfserjoch. A cyclists' festival with music and local food will take place at Franzenshöhe. The bike tour destination is the 2,760 metre high Stilfserjoch. But since there’s a car-free descent via the Umbrail Pass down into the Swiss Münstertal and on to Glurns, you can also have a wonderful round trip .
