Knowing where it's from
A total of five vineyards lie at between 300 and 600 metres above sea level in Meran, Obermais, Untermais and Labers. The soil is very stoney in the higher areas. The porphyry and granite stones lend the wines their unmistakeable mineral taste. Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are particularly suited to being grown on this terrain. The soil in the lower-lying areas is a bit sandier, very warm and less coarse. The Vernatsch, Lagrein and Regent varieties thrive there. Wine farmer Jürgen works in accordance with integrated wine farming principles. He makes sure that he uses as little pesticide and mineral fertiliser as possible as well as taking care to save resources.
