The annual race round Reschensee Lake is an absolute must for all running enthusiasts and is well known also beyond South Tyrol.
The run around Reschensee Lake has been taking place for over two decades, and all participants really enjoy it. Every year, more than 3,000 athletes take on the 15.3 km course, which reaches an altitude of 1,450 metres. The starting point is parallel to the historic Alt-Grauner church tower, which still rises out of the lake as a landmark and reminder of the sunken village. The course goes round the Reschensee on a variety of surfaces (80% asphalt and 20% gravel). The colourful field of participants ranges from runners, cyclists, Nordic walkers and children, to celebrities, and it’s one of the best-attended sporting events in South Tyrol every year. Those who want to do the run without pressure and time restrictions can take part in the Just for Fun run. As a supporting programme, there is a small market with sports articles and regional products, and delicious food will be offered at various stands. There’s a children's programme too, and in the evening there’s the award ceremony and a marquee party.
