Cornmeal “Muas”
A dish that was on the table almost every day in South Tyrol until the 1970s. It is eaten directly out of the pan with a spoon.

500 mlwater

1 Pinchsalt

3-4 dspnsugar

250 g“Muas” mehl
-
a little butter
Instructions - Cornmeal “Muas”

1.StepMelt some butter in a flat pan

2.StepAdd the milk and water and bring to the boil, then add the salt.

3.StepSlowly stir in the flour and sugar with a whisk.

4.StepKeep stirring on a low heat until the ‘muas’ has thickened and cook for about a further 20 minutes.

5.StepTop with melted butter.

6.StepTip: sprinkle with sultanas, cinnamon or cocoa powder to taste.
