South Tyrolean Lebkuchen or gingerbread is made with honey. The scent of these wonderfully aromatic biscuits makes Advent a very special time.

  • 300 g
    rye flour
  • 100 g
    sugar
  • 2
    free-range eggs
  • 2 dspn
    honey
  • 1/2 dspn
    sodium bicarbonate
  • 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground clove
  • 1 Pinch
    salt

    Step
    Knead all the ingredients to form a dough and leave at room temperature overnight.

    Then roll out the dough to about 5 mm thickness, cut out biscuits.

    Finally, bake at 220° C (upper and lower heat) for around 5 minutes.
