The knowledge of medicinal plants is a valuable treasure that many women farmers learn from their mothers and grandmothers. All sorts of herbs grow in the farm garden, the effects of which are only revealed through the knowledge of the women farmers. Due to their unmistakable taste and their healing power, they are used in a variety of ways in everyday life. Herbs are grown, collected at the right time of year, dried and processed on almost every farm in South Tyrol. During a guided tour of the herb beds, guests embark on a journey into the wonderful world of herbs and listen to the secrets of the farmer.

The milk from the cows has always been processed on South Tyrolean farms. Originally to extend the shelf life of this valuable resource, tasty products were created that are still very popular today. On a farm holiday, guests have the opportunity to pound butter according to old tradition and make yoghurt or curd cheese from the fresh milk. Along the way, holidaymakers of all ages learn about the fascinating journey of milk.

You can learn a lot on a holiday on a farm in an apartment or room. During a felting lesson with the farmer, guests learn about the many different uses of sheep's wool. In the past, the technique of felting was used to make warm clothing from wool. This fine art is still preserved on the farms in South Tyrol and brought closer to the guests. Whilst felting, craftsmanship is put to the test, and with a great deal of intuitive flair small works of art are created from the wool.
