Apple fritters

These apple fritters were once even eaten instead of a wedding cake. They are best when tossed in cinnamon and sugar.

    apples
  • For the dough:
  • 300 g
    flour
  • 500 ml
    milk
  • 3
    free-range eggs
  • a little salt
  • vanilla sugar
  • a little cinnamon
  • icing sugar

    Instructions - Apple fritters

      Step
      Peel and core 4 apples and cut into wedges. Then sprinkle with vanilla sugar and cinnamon.

      Mix together the ingredients for the batter.

      Dip the apples in the batter, fry on both sides in hot oil until golden brown, remove and drain on kitchen paper.

      Dust the still hot apple fritters with icing sugar and serve with vanilla sauce or cranberry jam and a mint leaf, if you like.
